I'm SO over summer.

On a lighter note... I have so many projects lined up. Our house is amazingly messy right now. I'm in the middle of a kitchen project that is sure to be GORGE. Should be done in two days... Give or take a day or two. Our 'sitting' room is now my 'project' room. Cabinet doors strewn everywhere. Taken apart furniture here and there. BUT the bright side is; I'm SO getting things accomplished this week!

Pics to follow.

We added a new member to our family on May 6th ! Welcome our new Dachshund puppy, Milah ! She's 7 weeks of perfection.
Our 10 month old English Bulldog, Chunk is adjusting well.

Here's the final photo of my dear daughter's bed. All sanded, stained, and beautified.
She HAD to have one of those mosquito net canopies over her bed. I had two problems with this.

1. I couldn't find one at the store I chose that day.
2. I don't like them.

So, I improvised. I found two sheer striped panels for $7 each. Then, I found a teeny tiny towel rack for $3. Woo.. Love it.

I also added a small white pillow that I had as a young girl. She loved this added touch. It was also a nice spot for the Tooth Fairy to leave some Moolah the following night. :))

(I must add I hate that the a/c vent is right in the middle of this gorgeous-o creation. I may have to do some adjusting. But for right now, it suits just fine.)

My LURVELY cousin's little boys had outgrown these
bunk beds. There are immaculately made and solid.
The type of furniture you just can't buy anymore. :(
I snatched them up. Quick.
They sat in our spare living room for a while. Umm. 3 weeks exactly.
I have an excuse ! It's been raining it's little heart out almost
since we moved into this place. Boo-yah !
Well, the rain broke today long enough for dear Fiance and I
to put in WERK ! He sanded and I stained. Red Mohogany
finish again. I'm in like with this stain. We have a love-hate
relationship because I can't get out of a project
without having it all over me.

Before stain.

After Red  Mogogany stain.

 Done !

My favorite thing about this bed is where
I can see my little cousins had played Tic Tac Toe.
I made sure not to cover it.

THEN the rain came. I had to carry these
bad Mamma Jamma's inside. BY MYSELF
b/c dear Fiance took the boys to play
basketball. That was fun. For me.

And back in the living room they rest. With it's
twin nearby.. :)

Well, here we are. April. A lot has changed since I blogged last.
We moved into our new house. I call it a house because we
are in the the middle of transforming it into our 'home'.
We love this house and have loads and loads of
plans for it. It's the perfect mixture of new and old.
Hardwoods, plaster, and drywall.

I confiscated this mirror from my mother's bedroom. It
had been sitting there against the wall for a number of years.
Unloved and Unused.
So, I loaded 'er up and brought her to the new house. Dear fiance
sawed the top off. I gave her a good sanding and finished with a
few coats of a red mahogany stain. Rubbing it off
in a certain way to bring an 'antiqueness' to it.
B-E-A-Utiful.
I am in love with this piece. It
sets the stage for our entire house.
A perfect mixture of new and old.

I will learn to take before & after pics ...
I will learn to take before & after pics...
:)

So.... This is a Craig's List find. $40 ! It's a LANE cedar chest from the 1940's
& I adorrrre it. I was questioning having it restored.. & I think not. I love the old
charm & character it brings to my "All New" everything room.

So, here I am..... On the blog bandwagon. The madness has started. I'm just going
to work on it piece by piece. And when the blog's "style" is complete, I'll start
actually "blogging". Trying to figure out the HTML part first.
Till then..... :)
